It’s been so good to be back home!

If you missed last week’s video on my winter road trip to Utah, you should make sure and check it out, after watching this. You can find it right here (Link).

I absolutely love to travel.

But I’m also a complete homebody, because my life out here in the forest is the perfect combination of quiet solitude and adventure that my soul craves.

All of the footage in my video was taken in the forest, right across the street from my house. A place where I’ve never seen another human. I know my neighbor and her kids come up here sometimes, but I’ve never run into them, or anyone else.

It’s an introvert’s dream come true.

The weather this week has been pretty warm, with a cold day here and there, so there’s been a lot of mud and slush that turns into ice.

My favorite thing to do on those cold, icy mornings is to crunch that ice. It’s such a satisfying activity—like when I used to pop packing bubbles as a kid.

I’ve also spent a lot of time this week, satisfying my bird obsession, that I didn’t realize I had, until I moved up here. I spent some time with my neighbor’s chickens, and spent a LOT of time feeding the wild birds. They’ve been super hungry this week and have been powering through the bird food.

When I first moved up here, I didn’t hear a peep all throughout the winter, because there was no food around. But when I introduced a bird feeder a few years ago, it changed all of that.

We still don’t have a ton of bird variety down here, like I’ve seen at other friend’s homes, but I love the little birdies that I do have around.

Thank you so much for reading along and watching my video!

Hi, I’m Kristen!

I envision a world where you and I rediscover what it is to be human, through connection with ourselves, each other and the natural world around us.
